Beach pub and restaurant Paat was opened in 2001 on Valpurgi’s Night. The architect of this building, which is located right on the shore and reminds an upturned boat, is INDREK SUIGUSAAR and the interior designer is SIGNE STOKAS.
For ages, Viimsi has been a fishermen village on the coast of the Gulf of Finland. The Viimsi men who harvested the sea for hundreds of years, after returning from fishing, would upturn the boats pulled to the shore, giving them rest that way. This pristine motif was also used in the design of architectural form this building, all the more so that Viimsi Open-Air Museum, located nearby, with its peasants’ houses-saunas and their elements, which reflect living conditions of ancient Estonians, as if demands such a building which would seem connected to the surroundings.
Beach pub and restaurant Paat is open the whole year round. Visitors can enjoy the sea view from a cosy 80-seat pub on the 1st floor or from a 40-seat restaurant on the 2nd floor, and in summer, in addition to those, there are a 10-seat restaurant terrace, a 40-seat pub terrace and a truly unique beach terrace, which reaches to the very edge of the water. Menus of the whole house pay great attention to local fish, and there is always a place for smoked plaice, straight from the oven!
Our young and cheerful crew actively organizes thematic events, and we pay special attention to our little visitors, who will have plenty of running space and drawing-playing opportunities here. In summer, various grill and picnic events are also held in the neighbouring Viimsi Open-Air Museum.
Delicious meals, good service, picturesque view to the Gulf of Tallinn, the city of Tallinn and log houses of our ancestors at Viimsi Open-Air Museum make every moment spent at Beach pub and restaurant Paat a true pleasure.
